"The republicans occupied the north eastern part of O'Connell street, with their strongpoint at the 'the block', a group of buildings which the Anti-Treatyites had connected by tunnelling through the walls. they had also taken over the adjoining Gresham, Crown, Granville, and Hammam Hotels. Their only position on the western side of the street was in the YMCA building. Additionally they had an outpost south of the Liffey at the Swan Pub on Aungier street. "

There are 2 entrances to Fisherman's Wharf.
One is on Yorke Road. This one has the name "Fisherman's Wharf" on it.
The other one is on Thorncastle Street. Blue gates, no name over it. This one is opposite the community centre.
There are also a number of houses/apartments that are road-facing, and road-accessible, on both Thorncastle Street/Yorke Road that are part of the Fisherman's Wharf Complex. Generally the lower number houses/apartments are on Yorke Street, the higher ones are on Thorncastle Street.
Note that the two entrances don't join up (for cars anyhow). There's pedestrian access from one part of the complex into the other, but only if you've got a magical key to open the gate...
