  • Trace, Converseahorse wrote 10 years ago:
This item was never here, it was across the street. In satellite imagery as of Nov. 2014 the shadow of the arches can be clearly seen there. However, c.2014 this sculpture was removed in order to allow a new traffic layout. The paved area has been completely replaced by road way so it is doubtful the sculpture will return to this spot. A brief search reveals no information regarding the fate of the piece. Unsure as to how to represent this in Wikimapia.

  • Marlay Grange, Leslie Peace Lawrence (guest) wrote 10 years ago:
Between the years 1961-1973 my grandparents owned, lived and loved Marlay Grange. At that time it encompassed a stables on the far side of the street facing what was the entrance to the gardener's house, the main house stable entrance, more paddocks a riding/training barn and drive to Marlay house. My grandmother had a one acre fruit and vegetable garden there, one of only two in the country Gingko Biloba trees, we had two tennis courts, a " tea house" overlooking the paddocks, roses, Lillie's and multitudes of flowers throughout the grounds. My grandparents had lovingly and with a great amount of detail restored and decorated the entire home to the beauty it was! I had heard, in2008 that it was for sale and sole for 12 million US...to hear now that it burned down two years later and to have seen the video is so tragic and heartbreaking. It was my home, it was so much.... My heart hurts.

The image refers to the wrong building. The Conciliation Hall was next door, on the corner of the street, and was demolished at some stage in the 20th century.
