    was named Irishtown because when the English came over here at first, they used Irish ppl to work for them and the English would live in the urban areas (city centre) and the Irish ppl that worked for them who were much poorer seemed to settle around the suburbs because they needed to be close to work but also weren't rich enough to live in the urban areas with the English and the likes of Irishtown were created for these ppl. There are also Irishtown's founded in Cork and Limerick.
